The trending trailer-promo of Indian-Australian lyrical Hindi movie 'Salt Bridge' directed by the talented Abhijit Deonath, starring Rajeev Khandelwal, stunning foreign actress Chelsie Crayford-Preston (she hails from New Zealand) and Usha Jadhav, seems to have intrigued a large number of viewers.
The film was initially released in Australia and will BE out here on January 4 (next month). It was completely shot in Australia and had a lot of cultural mix during the shoot.
Popular TV star, TV show-host and versatile Bollywood actor Rajeev reveals, “It was very challenging because of the cross-culture mix and language issues. The Australian crew was very professional and yet had an amazing sense of humour. Which is why, the work environment was stress-free.”
Writer-director Abhijit discloses that he has created 'Salt Bridge' which has a metaphorical meaning, in a hope to bring positivity and unconditional love and compatibility between couples. “Not letting virtuous, guilt-free extra-marital bonding affect a person's social life is the main message of this highly relatable movie. We still seem to be quite conservative and unfair in our prudish thinking and need to be more progressive. In the film, people misunderstand NRI Basant's (Rajeev) unblemished friendship with Madhu (Chelsie) to be an affair. But they are genuinely good friends, nothing more than that,” shrugs Khandelwal.
Incidentally, the soulful songs of 'Salt Bridge' were all written by the director himself and have now been nominated for the 88th Oscar awards.
