“No, I didn’t really feel lost at all amidst the galaxy of the ‘dirty dozen’ (that’s what they call themselves) top-stars of ‘Housefull-2’ directed by Sajid Khan. Audiences have definitely registered my cute, chirpy screen-character paired opposite Shreyas Talpade and with its impactful funny and dramatic scenes. Rather, it’s my privilege that I am part of the mega stars ensemble of this prestigious movie produced by showman producer Sajid Nadiadwala, which released last week.
“In fact with such a mascot title like ‘Housefull’, half the box-office battle was won. After the runaway success of the ‘The Dirty Picture’ even the tag ‘dirty’ is lucky,” enthuses Shazahn Padamsee who made her lukewarm screen debut opposite Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Rocket Singh-Salesman of the Year’.
As is common knowledge, the comedy-of-errors movie which has marital alliances as its major undercurrent, also brought together on screen veteran yet evergreen actor Rishi Kapoor with his elder brother Randhir Kapoor. “It was such an honour to share screen-space with the senior Kapoors from the iconic RK family. They are called by their nicknames Chintu and Dabboo in the movie, as well. Both are so down-to-earth and witty,” insists Shazahn who was cast by director Madhur Bhandarkar opposite the much-older Ajay Devgn in his bold, brazen social comedy ‘Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji’.
Despite being the daughter of illustrious theatre and ad-guru Alyque Padamsee and star pop-singer Sharon Prabhakar, getting into movies was not a cake-walk for the petite Padamsee babe.
“Like most other aspirants, I too had my struggle phase of sorts, when I started off as a raw newcomer. But I had patience and self-confidence and the moral support of both my parents. My exposure to theatre and drama did help me to acquire the basic skills of acting,” shrugs the upcoming actress.
