The fourth National Yash Chopra Memorial Award instituted by the dynamic Bollywood producer cum M.P Dr. T Subbarami Reddy in association with Anu and Shashi Ranjan will be conferred this time on charismatic mega-star Shah Rukh Khan as 'unanimously decided by the jury' which includes besides Dr. Reddy and Anu-Shashi, Boney Kapoor, Hema Malini, Padmini Kolhapure, Simi Garewal and the revered Pamela (Yash) Chopra.
The grand awards ceremony would be held in the last week of February next year. Justified Mrs Pam Chopra, ”In today’s times SRK is an iconic figure, and this award has always been given to iconic legends. In the near future Shah Rukh will also emerge as a legend. Actually Yash-ji and SRK were very fond of each other. In fact the last interview which Yash-ji did was with SRK, where he announced his ‘retirement’ , without even telling me, which in turn had shocked me.”
Meanwhile, Padmini Kolhapure expressed her earnest appreciation for unassuming SRK’s reverential regards, for all senior actors and film-makers, despite his superstar status. It may be recalled that SRK has acted in landmark Yash Chopra directed movies including ‘Darr’, ‘Dil Toh Paagal Hai’ and ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’
