“Honestly, I am so pre-occupied with my movie career, that I don’t have time for ‘dating’ babes and keeping in touch with any of my ex-housemates,” insists ‘BB-8’ winner and heart-throb Gautam Gulati, who had sultry housemate Diandra Soares making bold romantic overtures towards him, during his ‘Bigg Boss’ stint.
Unlike other previous male winners of ‘Bigg Boss’, whose acting careers hardly ‘took off’, the go-getter Gulati has proved to be an exception. Gautam has been finalised for his big-screen debut with this current movie project produced by showbiz baroness Ekta Kapoor. Not surprisingly, the glib Gulati has now “opted out” of this movie ‘Udanchoo’ in which he was cast as a ‘con-man’.
Was the suave Gulati dude, ever ‘conned’ by someone in real life? Wearing a smirky smile, he reacts, “Not conned. But there were instances when people whom I trusted, betrayed me or took me for a ride. Being an emotional person I sometimes get carried away easily,” he explains.
Wasn’t he wishing to work with ‘mentor’ Salman Khan? “Of course, it would be a dream to be sharing screen-space with Salman bhai. Besides being a bankable mega-star, he is wedded to charity. This he-man bachelor Khan is a Samaritan who discreetly helps thousands of needy ailing persons regularly. Actually, he knows that I was planning to plunge into movies in lead roles and I have his blessings with me. It's mainly thanks to ‘BB-8’ and Salman, that I have emerged as the ‘hot hunk’ who has a ‘dozen’ ardent fan-clubs today,” signs off Gulati, whose elder ‘look-alike’ brother Mohit is content with “only advertising”.
