Ranveer Singh shares his casting couch experience

Tuesday, December 15, 2015

Ranveer Singh, who is known for his infectious energy, is one of the most successful GenNext stars today. However, the 'Bajirao Mastani' actor recently revealed that he has experienced casting couch, first-hand, during his struggling days.

When asked if he has ever faced casting couch, the actor confessed, ''Of course I faced it. There was this very sleazy gentleman in Andheri, who called me over to his house at about 8 pm. I had made a very impressive portfolio, however, this guy didn't even look at it. I was like, this is at first, everybody I handed over my portfolio to, would at least have a look at it, which meant this guy was not interested in it at all."

''Later I found out what he was interested in. He kept it aside and told me “you have to be smart, you have to be sexy, as only those people go ahead in life. Tomorrow I will send you to several offices”. He came over to me and said “Take, touch”. I was in complete shock and then he had the guts to try and negotiate with me. He told me if you won't do anything then let me touch it. Then he said, okay I will just see it and I told him no. He was heartbroken when I said no and left the place like a jilted lover. When I told other struggling actors about him, they told me that he does this to everyone. It's a very real thing that happens, I have experienced it first-hand," he further added.

Well, Ranveer made it big without giving in to the gentleman's 'request'.
