Amidst mobbing by swarms of hysterical screaming fans current Bollywood heart-throb Ranveer (‘Baba’) Singh marched onto the stage. The ‘just-married’ flamboyant Ranveer was exuding his charisma at the trending trailer launch of his latest action-thriller mega-movie ‘Simmba’ directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Karan Johar.
Wearing designer sun-glasses, it was as if, he was ‘shading’ himself from the glare of stardom.Being one of those fan-friendly star-actors, the ‘live-wire’ Ranveer made it a point to pose for ‘selfies’ with each of his fans as they turned ecstatic. Adapted from this Telugu hit movie ‘Temper’, Ranveer plays a macho corrupt police officer Sangram (‘Simmba’) Bhalerao romantically paired opposite the gracefully charming Sara Ali Khan.
In the latter-half of the movie after an emotionally rattling ‘rape’ incident, he has a change of heart. Incidentally, Ajay ‘Singham’ Devgan plays a striking cameo as ‘DCP Singham’ in this movie. Interestingly, even ‘jinxed actor’ Karan Johar has put in a ‘cameo’ in ‘Simmba’, because he is confident that Rohit’s movies are always a hit.
The exuberant Johar seemed charged as he exclaimed “Ranveer Singh is a crazy, mad, maniac actor and his coming together with hit-maker Rohit Shetty for the first time is a lethal mega-combination”. The otherwise rugged Ranveer was honest enough to admit, with an animated demo, that although he is a roaring lion on-screen, when it comes to ‘biwi’ Deepika Padukone, he timidly ‘cat-walks’ into the house. One of the startling twists of the ‘Simmba’ trailer is Sara Ali Khan’s character offering tips to Ranveer on how to execute an ‘encounter’ shoot-out.
