Candid mega-star Salman Khan left the invitees startled when he announced on the mike, that he had walked “uninvited—just to meet Rajnikanth-gaaru” into this historical event convened by South-side producer Subash Karan. Wherein the first teaser look of this on par-with Hollywood standards magnum opus robotic sci-fi ‘3-D’ Indian movie ‘2.0’ starring ‘Thalaiva’ Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar, was unveiled amidst thunderous applause. A confluence of legends including superstar Rajnikanth, south-side director ‘showman’ Shankar, Akshay Kumar, maestro A.R. Rahman and Salman Khan got together.
Compered by witty celeb director Karan Johar, the same spectacular event had yet another pleasant shocker in store. When asked if he would love to work with Salman, Rajnikanth declared that ‘whenever Salman was ready he would instantly start a movie with him as his co-star’.
Meanwhile, the modest Salman praised “hard-working, dedicated Akshay Kumar for his steady growth in his performances over the years” as generally compared to most actors who tend to stagnate. Co-star Akshay Kumar praised “Rajnikanth (he plays the villain) as not just a single superstar, but a galaxy of superstars and a super-human being. Not only does he have awesome exemplary mannerisms, but when his film ‘Baba’ did not do well, he even compensated the distributors.” Interestingly, Rajnikanth in turn praised Akshay as the ‘true hero’ of ‘2.0’ and insisted that the latter has excelled in his performance in his grotesque yet intriguing ‘get-up’ in the movie.
