Rajneish Duggal, an ex-Mr India and popular model has starred in two Vikram Bhatt films namely ‘1920’ and ‘Phirr’, both reasonably successful. Now comes his most ambitious venture in the supernatural thriller starring opposite the comeback sensation Karisma Kapoor in ‘Dangerous Ishqq’. We spoke to Rajneish about his most coveted role in the film that is surely going to set a milestone in Hindi cinema.
You are starring opposite Karisma. How do u feel?
It’s an amazing feeling. Actually the feeling hasn’t sunk in yet. Back in Delhi I watched a lot of her films and consider myself lucky to star opposite her.
Your second film with Vikram Bhatt?
Actually third, if you consider ‘Phirr’ that was produced by him. We share a good working relationship and after the success of ‘1920’ we formed a good team.
What is your role in ‘Dangerous Ishqq’?
I play the role of Rohan Thakral, a business tycoon’s son who is married to Sanjana, a supermodel played by Sanjanaa Kapoor and one fine day he gets kidnapped and a ransom amount of Rs 50 crore is demanded for his release. Then how Sanjana traces her missing husband with a lot of supernatural elements, tarot readings, etc is shown in the film.
How was it like working with Karisma Kapoor?
She is a completely professional actor and gives a lot of space to her co-actors and, of course, she looks like a million bucks.
And Vikram Bhatt?
He is patience personified and very clear and focused in his mind as to what he wants from his actors. It’s a great experience to work with him.
Your future projects?’
Right now I am not considering anything but reading a few scripts.
Were you dismayed by the failure of ‘Phirr’?
It was a well-made film but due to some distribution issues and production hassles the film got delayed and had a dated look. However, I was very happy with my performance in the film like my other films like ‘Be Careful’ and ‘Main Krishna Hoon’.
What next?’
I would like to be like Big B Bachchan who I am a huge fan of.
So Be It!
