Internationally acclaimed actress-cum-pop-singer Priyanka Chopra may be busy overseas, but that has not deterred her from expressing her devotional sentiments towards Lord Ganesha, whose festival would be observed with fervor this Monday onwards.
The tech-savvy former ‘Miss World’ Priyanka tweeted that she has launched devotional Ganapati songs from her home-production Marathi Film ‘Ventilator’ directed by Rajesh Mapuskar. “Lord Ganesha has always been my religious icon for constant inspiration, empowerment and solace during both my delightful and heart-breaking times,” Priyanka had expressed to the correspondent when she had personally visited the ‘Andheri-cha Raja’ Maha-Ganesha pandal for darshan in the recent past. The high-energy rhythmic dance number, which goes ‘Ya Re Ya Saare Ya’, celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi festival as the family welcomes the arrival of Lord Ganesh. According to director Mapuskar, “The movie ‘Ventilator’ is an emotional family entertainer featuring a sterling ensemble cast that includes veteran Marathi film and noted theatre actors.
This Ganesha song which is more like a ‘wake-up call’ has been basically inspired by my senior family members and it will evoke traditional nostalgia,” insists the director.
Not one to be left behind, dynamic actor-producer Riteish ( Banjo) Deshmukh has released a ‘single’ Marathi video-track which has satirical lyrics with the refrain ‘Thank God, Bappa Aapla Saarkha Naasto’. What makes this Ganesha track unique is that Riteish has ‘sung’ it in his own voice and buddy Akshay Kumar has released this ‘non-commercial’ video on internet social media. “The amazing response to my pulsating song track is very heartening,” smiles Riteish.
