Actor Prateik Babbar, son of ‘late’ acclaimed actress Smita Patil who made his film debut with ‘Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Na’ and followed it up with nine other movies, is poised to take his passion for ‘dramatic-live’ performances to the next level.
The talented actor, who starred in Saurav Chakraborty’s Bengali socio-political drama, ‘Auroni Taukhon’, two years ago, will now waltz into Bengali theatre.
Justifies ‘hot hunk’ Prateik “The encouraging response that I received for my play has given me the confidence to explore the medium further. Since I have done a Bengali film earlier, I am familiar with the language.” Affable Prateik, who essayed the role of a gay character in Jeff Goldberg's Six, the Indian adaptation of LB Hamilton's one-act play, ‘A Midnight Clear’, received several accolades for his performance. Meanwhile the actor whose birthday was yesterday (Nov 28th) had a quiet, austere celebration. “If it’s not a working birthday, I generally celebrate in the company of close friends by eating out. This time around, I spent the day with my 90 plus grandfather and my family,” reveals dude Prateik who it may be recalled, was in the recent past, ‘romantically linked’ to the gorgeous actress Amy Jackson, currently in the news for being part of the cast of this ‘robotic’ Rajnikanth - Akshay Kumar starrer mega-budget movie '2.0'.
