Even as a casually clad, minus mandatory ‘make-up’, ‘Bigg Boss-11’ winner Shilpa Shinde emerged the scene-stealer at the event. Film and telly ‘show-woman’ Rashmi Sharma (of the award-winning ‘Pink’ movie fame) launched a new media company named Rashmi Raj Media and also announced its first collaboration with AKB48 called ‘MUM48’. The internationally acclaimed AKB48 is a Japanese idol girls group from Tokyo which has sister groups in China, Japan and Indonesia, with it set to make its presence felt in India by the end of this year.
“As part of my constant crusade for woman empowerment, MUM48 possibly comprising 48 young girls, would be an excellent opportunity in Mumbai, to explore music, dance and other hidden natural talents for any girl between 12-30 years of age,” declared the ambitious Rashmi. Along with her dynamic husband Pawan Sharma, she invited all her lead female TV stars who had featured in female roles in her various TV shows over the years, to showcase empowerment of girl power. The event was graced by popular telly and filmy celebs like Mrinal Kulkarni, Shilpa Shirodkar, Gracy Singh, Jayati Bhatia, Kamya Punjabi, Dipika Kakar, Gia Manek, Devoleena Bhattacharya, Helly Shah, Tanya Sharma, Tejaswi Prakash Rubina Dilaik, Madirakshi Mundle, Keerti Gaekwad and male celebs like Sharad Kelkar, Amar Upadhyay and Abhay Vakil. Post-event during the after-hours, a jubilant, agile Shilpa Shinde was seen swinging and swiping the dance-floor with host Rashmi and some of her TV fraternity colleagues.
