With her spontaneous, spunky, award-worthy performance in ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’, Parineeti Chopra, whose ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ is releasing shortly, has proved that she is a Bollywood actress who can be 'banked' on. The exuberant model-actress is upbeat about her latest movie ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ (HTP) co-produced by Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap, in which she has apparently tried to conjure a histrionic take-off on cousin Priyanka Chopra’s memorable performance in ‘Barfi’. Counters Parineeti, “Although it’s a musical rom-com triangle, my role is of a quirky scientist called Meeta who has her screen-graph full of twists and turns, but is not a differently abled person. Believe me, even after diligent preparation for my character, I had a blast shooting for the movie. My fans will see me in a different Gujju-girl avataar,” says the chirpy Parineeti.
The 'HTP' script initially has hero Siddharth Malhotra falling in love with Parineeti’s sibling played by Adah Sharma. But in a calculated bid to impress Adah, Siddharth is unwittingly drawn to Parineeti, despite her weird antics.
So, how did the ‘Ishaqzaade’ girl manage to hit it off so well with the rather reserved Siddharth? “Sid is not an introvert. He is calm and a workaholic, but lively as well. Besides sharing creative inputs, he also supported me whene my scene did not going well . That’s how our proactive on screen-chemistry is evident,” laughs Parineeti.
