The new kid on the block, Yuvraaj Parashar, is all set to debut as a sexually confused married man in the Sanjay Sharma’s adaptation of Brokeback Mountain titled Dunno Y…Na Jaane Kyon. We spoke to Yuvraaj about his film which is winning laurels in European markets, and many international film festivals. Here is what the talented young man has to say.

Your film debut faces controversies. How do you feel about that?
Yes. But it was anticipated. The film has many bold scenes between me and Kapil Sharma but it’s an integral part of the film about a young man who is happily married but realizes that he is bi-sexual and is attracted to men. This character played by me finally comes out of the closet and declares his love for his friend played by Kapil and the sex scenes have been shot aesthetically without being regressive or vulgar.

Recently a political party staged an agitation against your film and even your own father has filed against you. What are your thoughts?
They haven’t seen the film yet. I don’t know what the political party has found offensive. As for my father I had appraised him about the film and my role. But it seems he misunderstood and is now taking action with some mischief mongers around him. Actually I respect my father a lot and whatever I have achieved today is entirely his credit because he encouraged me a lot in dramatics right from my childhood days.

Your film has lot of senior stars?
Yes Zeenat Aman, Helen, all encouraged me. In fact Zeenatji on the first day of the shoot called me the Brad Pitt of the Hindi film industry. It was a great experience to work with them especially Zeenatji who plays my mother.

What was the reaction of the big blockbuster filmmaker Anil Sharma?
He was very impressed with my work and has promised me roles in his future films. His films like Gadar, and Veer have inspired me a lot.

What about director Sanjay Sharma?
He is a very patient and sensitive director. He shoots all his scenes with a great amount of patience and never gets harried on the sets. His sense of taking and scripting is top class.

Have you signed any more films?
No. I am waiting for Dunno Y…Na Jaane Kyon to release.
