Senior film, TV and stage actor Nitish Bharadwaj who directed the highly acclaimed Marathi movie 'Pitruroon’ is confidently gearing up for his next directorial venture, which is in Hindi. It may be recalled that veteran versatile actress Tanuja had shaven off her head for her riveting character in the same movie.
Post-release, her actress-daughter Kajol was moved to tears and had appreciated the cinematic efforts of Bharadwaj. Nitish, said, “I have now finalised the screenplay of my Hindi film, which is again inspired by an old European play, which I have adapted to Indian milieu. It is a pure drama of emotions, ambitions and romance, which happens to be set in a period. To me, for any film, the emotional story unfolding in the foreground is more important than the period, sets and costumes. What moves the audience is when their emotional chord is touched. Because we are an emotional race.”
“These days, I am casting for this new film in sync with the budget. The initial recce was done while I was shooting in Gujarat, for movie ‘Mohenjo Daro’ and Kutch may be one of the possible locations,” revealed Nitish who is currently playing iconic deity Lord Krishna ‘live’ on stage in this play titled ‘Chakravyuh’ directed by Atul Satya Koushik.
