Nikhil shocked over Tamil 'D-Day'

Friday, January 31, 2014

Nikhil Advani's popular thriller 'D-Day' received rave reviews from critics, and Rishi Kapoor also bagged several awards for his brilliant role as the villain of the film. But the director was in for a shock when he realized that his film will be releasing in Tamil without acquiring his permission.

When questioned by PTI about the Tamil version of 'D-Day' being released, the furious director confirmed it, saying, "I am shocked and disappointed to learn about the irresponsible way in which my film 'D-Day' is being released in Tamil. We have not been consulted by the exploitation rights holders on making alterations to the marketing material, and the Tamil version of the film being titled 'Dawood' is mischievous and misleading. We are examining the matter and may be forced to act legally." During the release of 'D-Day', Nikhil had always maintained that the film is a fictional plot and bears no resemblance to the life of Dawood Ibrahim and now, with the misleading title given to the Tamil version, Nikhil is all set to take legal action against the makers.

Rumours of Shruti Haasan being promoted as the face of the film also surfaced, and confirming the same and clearing the air about her involvement in the Tamil version of 'D-Day', Shruti took to Twitter and stated, "I'm not associated with the Tamil version of d day- it is a matter under legal consideration at the moment."
