Seasoned Bollywood retro composer-singer Bappi Lahiri, seemed euphoric as he fondly cradled his cherubic five-month old grandson Krishh, following the religious ‘Annaprasanna’ (rice ceremony) at his Juhu bungalow. Enthuses Bappida, “Even before he was born we were getting divine vibes and dreams that ‘Bal-Gopal-Krishna’ would enter our lives. Hence we christened him ‘Krishh’ and he seems to be having a inborn inclination towards music. Incidentally, ‘Krishh’ was born to my bahu Taneesha and son Bappa, in this famous Beverly (Los Angeles) hospital Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, in which legendary Michael Jackson’s son M J Joseph Jr, was also born besides several other top musical celeb-children, “ disclosed the ‘Disco King’ and ‘Melody Monarch’, also known for his layers of mascot gold chains and amulets adorning his neck.
The Lahiri’s homely, yet lavish event was attended by a galaxy of luminaries, including Amar Singh, Randhir Kapoor, Hema Malini, Jayaprada, Padmini Kolhapure, Sharbani Mukherjee, Sumona Chakravarti, Kailash Kher, Deb Mukherjee, Rupali Ganguly, B.Subhash, Champak Jain, Lalit Pandit and Sophie Chaudhry.
Meanwhile Bappa, who is enjoying his being a ‘Dad’ status, and has been mostly composing international albums out of Los Angeles, seemed excited. “It’s all destined I guess. A year ago, in Hollywood, I composed and released this album ‘Divine Power’ dedicated to Lord Krishna, in which my dad has sung so beautifully. It’s very rarely that you will get to hear about a legendary composer father singing his own son’s compositions,” smiles Bappa.
