“We will start shooting shortly and I am highly excited that I will be playing the iconic wrestler ‘The Great Gama Pehalwaan’ 's youngest brother in the upcoming telly show produced by Salman (Khan) bhai,” discloses macho Mahaakshay Chakraborty, also fondly known as ‘Mimoh’ – a name coined by his mega-star Bollywood former lead actor-super-dancer father Mithun Chakraborty. The name is an innovative ‘fusion’ of the initial letters of the first names of Michael Jackson and Mohammad Ali. As is known, Mithun-da has been a huge ‘fan’ of both these mega-legends. None other than sinewy hunk Sohail Khan (Salman’s sibling) is cast in the title role of ‘Gama’ in this show being directed by the brawny, burly actor-director Puneet Issar.
Although off-screen, Salman is a close buddy of Mithun-da and they have acted together in movies like ‘Lucky:No Time For Love’, there was no preferential treatment for Mahaakshay. “Since the past seven years I have been into M.M.A (Mixed Martial Arts), but Salman-bhai insisted that I appear for the grueling ‘auditions’, after which they selected me. Ever since I signed this finite Star Plus telly show, we are practicing hard-core wrestling daily,” confides ‘canine-lover’ Mimoh, who has acted in various Bollywood movies including ‘Jimmy’, ‘Haunted:3D’, ‘Loot’ and ‘Ishqedarriyan’.
Interestingly, his rugged star-dad Mithun had played the title role in a retro-Hindi movie titled ‘Boxer’ (1984) directed by Raj (Daddu) Sippy.
