Talented star-actor Manoj Bajpayee will go ‘missing’ from Mumbai this weekend. Amidst chuckles he says, “Haanjee, that’s because I will getaway and usher in the New Year in exotic Singapore with my family.”
In fact, one of his upcoming movies, a horror-thriller, is titled ‘Missing’. Enthuses Manoj, “With movies like my mentor Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Sarkar 3’ where I am co-starring with legendary Amitabh-Sir and four more movies including the international social thriller ‘Love Sonia’ and ‘In the Shadows’, I guess 2017 should emerge very amazing for me.” The buoyant Bajpayee has had a busy and eventful year of 2016. From receiving several international and national recognition for his outstanding performance as the ‘gay’ professor in ‘Aligarh’, to delivering fine performances in critical acclaimed films Budhia Singh: Born to Run, Traffic and Saat Uchakkey, this bygone year has given the affable Manoj several reasons to celebrate. Not content with just mainstream feature films, the adventurous actor ‘dared’ to also act in landmark ‘short films’ ‘Ouch’ directed by Neeraj Pandey and ‘Kriti’ directed by Shirish Kunder.
“If the subject and my role excites me, I do make exceptions,” shrugs the acclaimed ‘Satya’ actor, who actually was named ‘Manoj’ by his parents, after the revered veteran actor-director Manoj ‘(Bhaarat’) Kumar. The twice National Award winner, Manoj is known to be a ‘family man’ and has always been sentimental about his loved ones at home.
