If, way back in 1998, mega-star Aamir Khan sang this sensational cult duet-song ‘Aati Kya Khandala’ later picturised on him in Ghulam (1998), 21 years later it’s now the turn of his strikingly ‘look-alike’ light-eyed younger brother actor Faissal Khan to record a song.
It is for this upcoming Hindi crime-psycho-thriller ‘Factory’ produced and directed by Sharique Minhaj. “Confides the music-savvy Faissal, who had acted with co-star-brother Aamir in this movie ‘Mela’ (year 2000). Frankly, I have been humming and singing off-the-record in the past. But I had this secret dream of ‘recording’ a romantic song from the past so many years. It fully materialized when director Sharique-bhai coaxed me into singing and recording this soulful, romantic track ‘Ishq Tera’, which has been highly appreciated by everyone. Even my mother (Zeenat Hussain) who specially arrived at the recording studios to bless me, loved my singing. Normally, my Ammi (mother) will never falsely praise if she is not impressed,” smiles Faissal.
When quizzed about his comeback lead role in ‘Factory’, the suave Khan is tight-lipped. “Filhaal, I can only reveal that my complex role has unpredictable twists and there is an under-current of a suspense thriller in our movie which also has vivacious Megha Sharma making her screen-debut. Besides, we also have actors Onkar Das Manikpuri, (TV star) Ribbhu Mehra, Sharad Singh in the cast.
Has Aamir also reacted to his brother’s singing debut? “Of course, Aamir-bhai was delighted and he has conveyed me his best wishes and moral support,” smiled Faissal.
