Actor Jackie Shroff has undergone a screen test for the role of legendary actor Sunil Dutt in Sanjay Dutt's biopic but is yet to sign on the dotted line.
The Rajkumar Hirani helmed project will see Ranbir Kapoor playing the lead role and Jackie will be seen as his father Sunil Dutt. “I did the look test for the role of Sunil Dutt sahab. It’s big thing for me that they thought of me for this role. It's a difficult role (to play). I will try not to look like him. I will try to follow his mannerisms,” Jackie said. “I have met him (Sunil Dutt) on a couple of occasions. The first time I met him was at his place when Baba (as Sanjay Dutt is fondly called) introduced me. It was a casual, normal conversation between us,” he said.
The 'Hero' actor reveals that Hirani shared his look test, photos with Sanjay and the latter loved it.
As per media reports, superstar Aamir Khan and megastar Amitabh Bachchan were too approached for the senior Dutt's role but did not take up the offer.
Although Jackie is yet to sign the role but according to him, if all goes well (referring to his selection) he will begin shoot from January next year.
Currently, the 59-year-old actor is busy with Ram Gopal Varma's 'Sarkar 3' which stars Big B in the lead role.
