Jackie Shroff, one of the veteran character actors in the industry today, is all set to play the role of a lifetime, that of a boxer to his two sons, in an estranged family. The official remake of the Hollywood hit ‘Warriors’ from the legendary banner of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions will see Jackie play the role that Nick Nolte did in the original.
Jackie says, “ I am very happy with the way my role has shaped up and I am sure the film will be a big hit as the director Karan Malhotra knows his job very well and is a very sensitive director”. When asked about Akshay and Siddharth, Jackie says, “ they are both hardworking boys and have a great future ahead of them and are well mannered too”. When quizzed about his senior statesman status in the industry he sheepishly says, “ there are many more veteran stars like Bachchan saab and that he is nowhere near him”.
Feeling proud about his two films being remade like ''Hero'' and ''Ram Lakhan'' he says, “Even I have acted in the remake of ''Devdas'' and my character of Chunnilal was very popular”. When asked about his star son Tiger Shroff, Jackie says, he is very happy about the way his son's career is progressing and that he is a very disciplined boy who emphasises a lot on fitness and dancing and the right sleeping hours. But he says he is more proud about his daughter Krishna who has taken up “teaching in a school” as a profession”.
