The opening ceremony of the ongoing 49th edition of IFFI-2018 in Goa, was marked by a peppering of amusing moments as articulate, glib celeb film-maker host Karan Johar found himself verbally sparring with two iconic personalities from contrasting fields, Akshay Kumar the Bollywood superstar and Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore, the illustrious Sports and I&B Minister.
“We three have one special thing in common, which is ‘shooting’. While we ‘shoot’ on the sets, Rathore-sir would ‘shoot’ at his aiming-targets,” quipped the jovial Johar. With his penchant for subjecting celebs to a volley of rapid-fire questions, the popular ‘Koffee with Karan’ TV show host shot a question at Minister Rathore.
“If someone makes a biopic on you, who would you like to play your character,” Karan quizzed Rathore. “I would certainly like Karan Johar to ‘direct’ my biography, and make it a super-hit.” Not surprisingly, KJo immediately agreed to take up the bio-pic venture. However, no actor’s name was proposed, as Rathore was not too sure who could be best-suited for the role. Interestingly, when Akshay asked Karan as to what title he would prefer for the Rathore bio-pic, the latter responded with “Khiladi—woh to bantaa hai”. Moments later, when Akshay was asked as who would play him the best in his biopic, he reacted, “I think Ranveer Singh.”
