Distinguished Bollywood film-maker J. P. Dutta (of ‘Border’ fame) and his wife- former heroine Bindiya Goswami-Dutta ( of yesteryear ‘Golmaal’ fame) both seemed euphoric yet anxious. That’s because their charming actress-daughter Nidhi Dutta will shortly make her filmy lead debut with this movie titled ‘Jee Bhar Ke Jee Le’ (live life to the fullest ). Discloses chirpy Nidhi , “ It’s a refreshing rom-com where I am playing the lead opposite Ajit Sodhi who is senior actress Nafisa Ali’s actor-son. The maverick musical movie is about travel, friendship, romance and destiny, where I play a travel-blogger.
And no one gets killed by bullets in our movie,“she chuckles. Curiously enough. although J P Dutta is the producer, the new banner is called ‘J P Gene’, as if to highlight the starry lineage. All set to release by May-end, ‘Jee Bhar Ke...’ is being directed by Binoy Gandhi (he was with YRF for the past eight years) and has its music scored by sibling-duo Sangeet and Siddharth Haldipur. Interestingly, Nafisa Ali has acted in Dutta’s ‘Kshatriya’ (1993) which happens to be among Nidhi’s favourite movies besides ‘Border’ that is. Intriguing as it may sound, she assisted her meticulous dad J P Dutta in this movie ‘Umrao Jaan’ and used to call him ‘Sir’ on the sets. Enthuses Nidhi, “Dad’s been my more of an in-house friend-guide-coach to me.We keep bouncing creative ideas off each other, ” gushes the budding actress whose movie also has the vivacious Sagarika Ghatge (of ‘Chak De) in a pivotal role.
