Sarah, the former VJ and Miss India, plays a free-spirited singer - Amira - in the musical drama ‘Zubaan’, scheduled to release on March 4
Actress Sarah Jane Dias says she had great time both singing and acting in her upcoming film "Zubaan". The first song of the Mozez Singh's film was launched yesterday on T-Series' official YouTube channel. "It was fun playing a pop singer as it allowed me to have the best of both worlds and explore both my passions - singing and acting," Sarah said in a statement. She has shot a pop number, titled "Music Is My Art".
"I'm a complete Jennifer Lopez fan girl, so it was easier for me to relate to what the director (Mozez) had in mind... the songs are bright, vibrant and something that Bollywood has not completely explored," Sarah said.
"He wanted me to mix up the sexiness of JLo with the shiny and effervescent disco feel of Nazia Hassan (Pakistani pop singer, lawyer and social activist)," she said. Shot in the rustic backdrop of a garage, the song showcases Vicky Kaushal and Sarah grooving to the peppy dance number. Composed by Ashu Phathak and sung by Rachel Varghese, the song is touted as a party track.
