From "Dev D" to "That Girl in Yellow Boots", Kalki Koechlin has enthralled critics and fans with her histrionics, but the actress wonders why she doesn't get nominated for awards. Kalki has finally been nominated at the Times of India Film Awards 2016 in the best actress critic's choice category for her performance in last year's "Margarita with a Straw". The 32 year old said she found the nomination surprising.
"I never expected a nomination as I rarely get nominated. So yes, being nominated for TOIFA 2016 is a great surprise."
In director Shonali Bose's coming-of-age drama, Kalki played a girl with cerebral palsy. Kangana Ranaut (Tanu Weds Manu Returns), Anushka Sharma (NH10), Shweta Tripathi (Masaan) and Bhumi Pednekar (Dum Laga ke Haisha) are the other names nominated in the category. TOIFA 2016 will take place at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai Sports City, Dubai on March 18.
