Three decades ago Govinda had his first runaway-hit debut release titled Ilzaam (1986) which was produced by (former Censor Board chief) producer Pahlaj Nihalani. Then came two more hits ‘Shola Aur Shabnam’ and ‘Aankhen’ with the same producer. It’s a full circle of sorts since once again Govinda's latest blockbuster ‘Rangeela Raja’ is with the same film-maker Nihalani, where he is paired opposite three glam-girl model-actresses Mishika Chourasia, Digangana Suryavanshi and Anupma Agnihotri.
Govinda who has acted in over 140 released movies quipped, “I am feeling like excited yet nervous-newcomer all over again. Acting with the three young new heroines has made me so rejuvenated. It’s like my ‘punar-janam’ (reincarnation) in my acting career.” Although the film has elements of oomph-erotica as far as the character is concerned, producer Pahlaj feels the movie also has a strong social message and also for the #MeToo campaign.
Govinda said, “There is a relatable colourful character which is there in most families. My screen-wife (Digangana) is homely and sanskaari (cultured). My other double role of a look-alike sibling is a spiritual ‘yogi’ character. But there is this sensuous ‘Menaka’-type seductive character played by actress Anupma who tries to woo and charm me.”
Tall and gorgeous-model-actress Mishika (whose idol is Deepika Padukone) seemed quite excited because both Govinda and Pahlaj have praised her talent. “My dream is to work with Salman Khan,” Anupma said, who is being appreciated for her sizzling screen-presence in ‘Rangeela Raja’ directed by Sikandar Bharti.
