The chirpy, exuberant Shraddha Kapoor is both thrilled and nervous, even as her much-awaited bio-pic movie ‘Haseena Parkar’ directed by Apoorva Lakhia releases today. “Creatively satisfying, yet emotionally draining,” insists the dainty Kapoor who dared to ‘don’ (pun intended) the matronly, mature, unnerving look. “My biggest regret is that I couldn’t even get to personally meet Haseena-Aapa, as she had already passed away’, when I joined the cast,” sighs a rueful Shraddha, who feels her voice has become naturally ‘bassy’ after she has done the dubbing of ‘Haseena’.
“Since ‘Aapa’ had a bass element in her voice during her later years, I had to sound quite similar,” explains the ‘Aashiqui-2’ girl who had ‘put on almost 8 kgs weight’ for her hefty ‘Haseena’ look. But once again I burnt my excess calories to return to my normal slim self for my two upcoming projects ‘Saaho’, opposite the ‘Baahubali’ heart-throb Prabhas, and yet another bio-pic on badminton champ Saina Nehwal,” informs the ‘Half Girlfriend’ heroine who ‘loves to sleep early and wake up early’.
“After 8pm, I start dozing away , no matter where I am. Generally, by 7pm, I prefer to be at home ,” reveals Shraddha who was fascinated by the humility of her ’Saaho’ co-star Prabhas when she first met him in Hyderabad.
“Despite being such a mega-star, the 'pehla sawaal' Prabhas asked me was, ‘have you eaten something’. Since I am a ‘foodie’, I felt, I will get along very well with him,” blushes Shraddha, who also shared that she was “awe-struck” when she first met and saw Saina in action on the badminton-court.
