Effervescent yet dynamic actor Arshad Warsi known for his iconic 'tapori-bhai' ‘Circuit’ comic character in the super-hit ‘Munnabhai’ movie franchise series will be seen in yet another ‘hum-aapke-hain-‘con’ role. The versatile Warsi has been shooting for noted veteran producer Prakash Jha’s maverick movie ‘Fraud Saiyaan’ which also has the charming Sara Loren and funster Saurabh Shukla in the cast. Speaking about …Saiyaan’, producer Jha reveals, “My hero Arshad’s character has 13 wives and multiple torrid affairs which gets him into scraps with the law. It’s a fun-filled con-caper set in the North region. It’s character who very early in life realises that he can make gullible young women fall in love with him and with the promise of marriage, on occasions even taking the ‘saat pheras’ with them, can use them to support his lifestyle without the daily grind of a job.” Incidentally, this freak-out comedy film is inspired by a real-life fraudster who wed seven women in seven different cities, none of them aware of the other. With the recent scrapping of Sec 497 that makes “adultery no longer a criminal offence”, Jha’s latest venture ‘Fraud Saiyaan’, can now possibly get away with the ‘hero’ having extra marital affairs.
Enthuses the movie director Sourabh Shrivastava and producer Jha, ”Thanks to a recent Supreme Court ruling, the person committing adultery cannot be arrested nor can criminal charges be pressed against him. This ruling has unknowingly come to the rescue of our protagonist although eventually he will have to face the consequences of his actions.” The ‘marry-go-round’ crazy caper will hit the theatre-screens in mid-January next year.
