For the last eight – ten days, there have been some rumours floating around Shahid Kapoor's next film 'Farzi', being shelved. Reason for that was attributed to not-so-happy response to 'Happy Ending' which was directed by Raj and DK, who were supposed to kick-start 'Farzi' early this year. However it's all speculation.
“I am wondering where all this 'news' is coming from,” says Raj Nidimoru. “The film is certainly on and we are in pre-production.”
“We did take a small break before starting,” adds Krishna DK, who was travelling for a few days while he celebrated his birthday. “Even after we lock the final script, we usually take two to three months aside just for preparation. It isn't any different for 'Farzi'.”
As a matter of fact work is on in full swing for this Eros production, what with the secondary cast being put together and production design being worked on.
“And since we are on it, let us dispel another myth around the film. No, it isn't about hacking,” says Raj. “The film is very contemporary and is set in today's time and scenario. It is not a remake of any film. The film has a very big canvas to it and also has a slight action and satire.”
They are not bogged down by the fact that the exact date to start the film's shoot is yet to be finalised.
“There was never any fixed start date. It was always decided that once Shahid and Nawaz are done with their current projects, we will start 'Farzi',” says DK.
Meanwhile Kriti Sanon, the leading lady of the film, is already looking forward to the film going on the floor. Even as she gets ready for her part, she says, “It is a totally new part for a female protagonist. I am kicked enough to get going soon.”
That should settle it once for and all.
