“Hum sab ke andar shaitaan aur bhagwaan chhupa hua hai— alag-alag kam-zyaada proportions mein”, quipped Jackie ‘bhidu’ Shroff. The otherwise altruistic, chivalrous, down-to-earth senior star-actor Jackie was speaking at the ‘first look’ classy event of this Indo-Iranian co-production supernatural Persian-English-Hindi movie ‘The Devil’s Daughter’ where he plays the ghastly-looking eerie title-role of the devil’.
“By the way, I have acted in movies of eleven different languages, this will be the twelfth one. My fans who loved me as ‘Ram’ in ‘Ram Lakhan’, will be thrilled to see me as the satanic ‘shaitaan’, “ chuckled Shroff. The movie which has the stunning Esha Gupta playing the ‘daughter’ (she was missing at the event — as she was out-of-town) also has the vivacious Simran Mishrikoti (of ‘Salaam Bombay’ movie fame) and Iranian actor Hamid in important roles, while the tall, debonair Iranian actor Fardin is the lead. The innovative co-producer Lucky Nadiadwala Morani ( she plans to turn ‘movie director’ very soon) who has also been the ‘creative woman behind the show’, also appreciated the efforts of the Iranian crew headed by talented director Ghorban Mohammadpour. “It’s a huge compliment to ‘aamchi Mumbai’ that the most of the movie has been beautifully shot all over exotic city locales, and the Iranian cast and crew seemed “fidaa over the magic of Mumbai”, revealed madame Lucky. The turn-out of celebs included singer Shibani Kashyap, Vandana Sajnani with hubby Rajesh Khattar, popular actor –singer Ali Quli Mirza (of ‘Bigg Boss-8’ fame), talented musical duo Amaan Noor and Anamta Kamal,Mohammed Morani, graceful Neelam Sethi ( ITC group ) and Aly Morani.
