'Doctoring' a perfect murder!

Quirky as it may sound, this dark, urban crime-drama digital short film ‘The Perfect Murder’ directed by Vikramm Chandirramani has two gorgeous ‘real-life’ qualified doctors-turned-trained Bollywood actresses (Samvedna Suwalka and Niharica Raizada) indirectly pitted against each other as the wife and the ’other woman’ opposite the debonair hero (TV actor) Rohan Gandotra.

The slick extra-marital liaison thriller film has gripping performances by the cast with a bizarre twist-climax. Although Niharica has put in a volatile yet vibrant performance as the ‘ glam, possessive, materialistic paramour’, she wishes that she “should have been cast in the wife’s role because it is more restrained. Also the wife’s screen-character is a heart-patient and I am a cardiac- medico in real-life,” smiles Raizada (of ‘Warrior Savitri’ film fame) who will soon be seen in a prominent role in the upcoming multi-starrer adventure comedy movie ‘Total Dhamaal’ directed by Indra Kumar.

“Honestly I wish to shed my glamour and perform rural gaon-ki -chhori -- completely de-glam roles,” smiles Niharica. Although, she is an MBBS qualified doctor, winsome Samvedna deviated and daringly plunged “into the pool of acting—it’s my passion”.

Continues Samvedna, “In the movie, since I play a cardiac patient, I discussed with director Vikramm and suggested a few medical science inputs during the shoot. Actually, as an actress, I have the creative freedom to play a variety of contrast roles,” enthuses Suwalka who will soon be seen in a SonyLIV original web-series titled ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ co-starring Vivek Mushran.
