He is known for playing negative characters, and actor Shahwar Ali says it is because of the lack of opportunities for an outsider like him. The actor, who made his debut with "Asambhav" in 2004, has acted in "Bbuddah...Hoga Terra Baap", "Department" and many South films where he played negative roles.
"Lot of my friends ask me why I always play negative roles. The problem is, if you don't have a godfather here, it is very difficult to get the work you want to do," Shahwar said. "When I came here in 2000, I had no one to guide me, I took work which came my way and not necessarily the one which I really wanted. Although, I must say, I have absolutely enjoyed playing negative characters," he said.
He will now be seen on Zee TV's "Ek Maa Jo Laakhon Ke Liye Bani Amma". The show will mark his fictional TV debut. "The audience has evolved. Limited series are the future of TV... Nobody wants to sit and watch a serial which goes on for years and years. The entire system is changing for good.''
