Vivacious international model Diana Penty known for her riveting role in Homi Adajania’s ‘Cocktail’ co-starring Deepika Padukone, has yet to strike it big-time despite having played the adventurous title-role in the recent ‘Happy Bhaag Jayegi’ produced by Anand Rai. Not one to give up so easily, the dynamic Diana will now be seen playing a partially de-glam NGO worker opposite Farhan Akhtar in her forthcoming Hindi film, ‘Lucknow Central’. The maverick yet comedy movie follows the story of a few jail inmates who rekindle their love for music and form a ‘band’ in prison with the help of an NGO worker, played by Diana.
Produced by Nikhil Advani, the film marks the directorial debut of Ranjit Tiwari. “Diana is a super-talented, versatile actress and is known for her off-beat choice of roles and films. She brings with her an element of quiet strength that lends itself well to the complex character we want her to portray," said Nikhil.
The exuberant Penty (whose mother-tongue is Goan Konkani quite similar to that of Deepika Padukone), enthuses, "I've always wanted to be part of stories that I feel strongly about and 'Lucknow Central' is one such story. I instantly consented when Nikhil narrated me the script. Playing a stand-out character that holds her own in a film that has such talented co-stars, makes it even more special for me," said Diana.
