"Kadambari", directed by Suman Ghosh, also stars Parambrata Chatterjee and is based on the life of late poet Rabindranath Tagore and his controversial relationship with his sister-in-law Kadambari Devi.An elated Konkona took to Twitter to share the news with her fans.

"Thrilled to have received Best Actress award at the Washington DC South Asian Film Festival! 'Kadambari' Best Film & Court had Best Director!" the 34-year-old actress tweeted.

"Court", a poignant commentary on India's judicial system, is Tamhane's directorial debut.
