Panaji: Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale opined there should be a control over the sky rocketing budgets of Hindi films, which get inflated because of the high fees being paid to the top stars. The actor, who played Aishwarya Rai's strict father in 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', has been a part of a number of Bollywood and Marathi films.
Gokhale said that the films are made with Rs.50 crore budget of which stars get paid Rs.10-15 crore, discouraging honest film producers from venturing into filmmaking. "What happens to the honest producer who wants to make serious films? Making a film is like entering in the dark cave. I have seen many producers vanishing in it (cave). There should be control on the expenses of a film," the actor said.
