Elegantly chic model-actress Madhurima Tuli who featured in the controversial yet heart-warming Airtel commercial ad-film which showed her as a caring spouse yet a ‘taskmaster’ boss whose hubby is her subordinate colleague, has secured her the big break-thru in Bollywood.
The adventurous ‘Fear Factor’ TV show participant who has already acted in various Southside regional movies as also thebohemian movie ‘Ek Cigarette Ki Tarah’ where her bold character is shown smoking, will now be seen as Akshay Kumar’s wife in the espionage-action-thriller ‘Baby’ directed by Neeraj Pandey (of ‘A Wednesday’ fame). Enthuses the tantalising Tuli, “Although Neeraj was aware that I have acted in a few movies before, it was my eloquent screen-presence in the Airtel ad-film that impressed him the most. When I got to know that I was being paired opposite top-star Akshay Kumar, it was a pleasant shock that made me dumbstruck with joy.”
“Initially I was slightly apprehensive. But after hearing the entire script narration I was convinced. In ‘Baby’ I am shown with long bouncy hair, sporting trendy, glam outfits and I have a classy lovey-dovey song with Akshay-sir as well in the movie. Although it has action galore, there is a love-story and emotional undercurrent as well where I get scope for performance,” explains Madhurima who has no inhibitions wearing bikinis, in contrast to her saree-clad corporate boss demure ad-film image. Wasn’t it tough matching up to seasoned co-star Akshay’s acting talents? She has an impish twinkle in her eyes, as she preens her long-tresses.
“Honestly, Akki sir is so unassuming and with his pro-active support I could give my best shots. Our on-screen chemistry stood up to Neeraj’s expectations and we are getting very favourable feedback from everyone,” insists the model-actress who besides acting in various TV serials, actually made her filmy debut with this rom-com ‘Kya Karein Kya Naa Karein’ in the recent past.
