The otherwise chilled-out National Award winning composer singer, Anu Malik was almost moved to ‘tears’ and even ‘sang’ his number from ‘Yaadein’ live, when Bollywood celebs led by ‘showman’ Subhash Ghai, and especially corporate luminary, Anirudh Dhoot who had hosted the event, showered him with lavish appreciation.
Anu was recently honoured by the Stardust ‘Sansui’ Awards with the accolade ‘Pride of the Industry’. The guest turn-out comprised a galaxy of celebs including actors Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Rahul Roy apart from stalwarts singers like Kumar Sanu, who also sang, Shaan, Udit Narain, Alka Yagnik, Sadhana Sargam and Papon.
Among the ‘surprise’ guests were ‘Yuva Sena’ suave leader Aditya Thackeray, accompanied by his mother, Rashmi Thackeray. Malik who is an acclaimed ‘poet-cum-lyricist’ said that “he would love to occasionally write lyrics for movies, but was hard-pressed for quality time. ''In fact I wish to watch ''Neerja'' but haven’t yet found the time,” smiled Aditya.
The euphoric Anu enthused, “This year, I am highly excited because after many years, the classy music of my movie ''Dum Lagaa Ke Haisha'' bagged the prestigious Zee Cine Award for ‘Best Music Director’, although there was tough competition from other nominations including ''Bajirao Mastani'' and ''Tamasha''.
