The public spat going on between Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut is ridiculously indecorous and does not befit their star status.
Kangana reportedly said in answer to why she was dropped from a film, “Yes, many lame rumours are doing the rounds, even a dumbass can tell where these rumours are coming from. I don’t know why exes do silly things to get your attention. For me, that chapter is over and I don’t dig graves.”
Hrithik Roshan sent a legal notice to Kangana demanding an ‘unconditional apology’ for defamation because she called him her “silly ex”. Hrithik Roshan tweeted, “There are more chances of me having had an affair with the Pope than any of the (I’m sure wonderful) women the media has been naming…”
To which Kangana retorted, “I respect the other person’s opinion. It’s very likely that a person can have a different perspective of the same situation or rather the past. But then, stick to your stand. Don’t contradict yourself and slyly pursue people, spy on them and chase them. So, we sign and seal the deal, and then move on.”
He then alleged that she has Asperger’s Syndrome and, of course Kangana’s lawyer came back with, “Your client (Hrithik) is living in his own illusionary narcissist world which starts and ends at self-aggrandising. Kangana in her interview about her silly exes never mentioned the name of your client (Hrithik). It was your client’s own unwarranted and uncalled reaction that made people look at him and assume that the ‘silly ex’ could be your client.”
All of which is causing immense amusement in the media, because when rumours of the two having an affair were making the rounds, both hotly denied it. Now such a can of worms opens up. Both of them are never going to live this down.
The acrimonious divorce proceedings of Karisma Kapoor and Sanjay Kapur being leaked to the media is also deplorable, more so because there are children involved.
The most dignified break-up in recent times must be that of Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor—this was almost cheerful and only lacked a split-up party! Unlike other couples in a similar situation, the two remained friends and worked together without any awkwardness or bitterness on show.
Film stars and celebrities already live in glass bowls, the least they can do is to see to it that they don’t turn their lives into entertainment for the masses.
