Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan's appointment as the brand ambassador for the 'Incredible India' campaign, has been reportedly put on hold after his name surfaced on the 'Panama Papers' controversy.
Though there is no official announcement yet, the alleged scandal seems to have put Big B's selection under a cloud. Earlier in the month, it was revealed that Bachchan, allegedly among 500 Indians had hid assets in offshore accounts. Following this, Big B issued a statement where he denied having any knowledge about the companies named by the Panama-based law firm.
The appointment of a brand ambassador for the government's prestigious campaign was involved in a controversy last year too, after actor Aamir Khan's comments on the “intolerance” debate.
