In an industry known for its 'massive egos' and 'convenient memory-loss', perfectionist Aamir Khan deserves kudos for being honest and frank at the recent live media event of the costume-epic action-adventure, 'YRF' magnum opus 'Thugs of Hindostan' ('TOH') written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya (also known as ‘Viktor’).
When asked why he had never professionally worked till date with the iconic superstar Amitabh Bachchan, the outspoken Aamir jogged into a flashback.
“Many years ago, there was this film launched called 'Rishta' to be directed by Indra Kumar which had Amit-ji and me as co-stars. Unfortunately, the film got stalled indefinitely,” shrugged Khan, who was responding to the Big B's jestful jibes that the 'PK' actor was declining acting offers with him (Bachchan Sr. that is).
Not surprisingly, the unassuming Amitabh openly declared he would “love to work in a movie under Aamir's direction, where I would even readily play a cameo role.”
Aamir responded, “It would be my good fortune If I get to direct a legend like Bachchan-saab.”
Later, in a repartee response, the witty Khan quipped, “The movie 'ToH' celebrates thugs, so they will be happy instead of being upset.” Besides Amitabh ( as Commander 'Khudabaksh Azaad' ) with co-star Aamir ('Firangi Mallah') as the 'thugs', the ensemble cast of this Diwali release blockbuster 'ToH' comprises the stunning Katrina Kaif and the gorgeous Fatima Sana Shaikh as well. Yet another icing on its cake is the fabulous songs-score by the genius duo Ajay-Atul. The cine-trade is surmising that the spectacular period 'ToH' movie may compete with the all-time 'Baahubali' box-office benchmark.
