What is Cigarette Ki Tarah all about?
The movie has an engaging story which is filled with lots of twists and turns that will keep the viewers on the edge of their seats. This romantic thriller is the story of a young and handsome guy, who comes from a moffusil town and has a culture shock when he comes to the city and how he falls in love blindly with a beautiful young girl played by Madhurima Tuli. The story then follows with how this blind love leads the guy into a deep trouble, and further separates him from other people like one man versus the entire world. In these dark situations, one surely gives up on everything, but he doesn’t, and thus keeps on believing and trusting on his blind love, which eventually and fortunately shows him all the ways to be out from all the difficulties.
Why the title Cigarette Ki Tarah?
It is a metaphor for a man’s journey from his life, to end just like a cigarette which burns out soon too.
Reportedly the title came under the censor scanner.
Yes, it did. But when we showed them the entire film and the anti-smoking message which we are trying to put across, they passed the title.
How was it, working on the film?
It was great to work with senior actors like Prashant Narayanan, Sudesh Berry and the debutante played by Madhurima Tuli starring opposite me who vibed very well with me and is an actor to look out for. Director Akshaditya Lama too is very talented.
Did you have any prior acting experience?
Yes. I was a part of the Ekjute Theatre group and honed my acting skills under the able tutelage of Nadira Zaheer Babbar, who is the founder of the group.
What next?
I am getting offers and have signed one film but I can’t reveal the details now.
