Suave Siddhanth Kapoor and charming Shraddha Kapoor will be creating unique cinematic history with their movie ‘Haseena Parkar’, according to its dynamic director Apoorva Lakhia . “A real-life brother and sister are playing on-screen siblings as well,” insists Apoorva, who had originally cast Siddhanth and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead, before Shraddha replaced her. “It’s as if it was pre-destined that I would play the ‘Bhai’ as well the brother to Shraddha in the movie. And I feel so blessed, because we share a close bonding off-screen. Even my parents (actor Shakti Kapoor and Shivangi) are delighted that ‘we’ are cast together,” smiles Siddhanth, who was the first to be signed for this dramatic movie with the ‘underworld’ theme.
The Kapoor Jr. dude reveals that he did ‘not’ repeatedly watch any recent Bollywood mafia-centric movies as a reference-inspiration to enact the ‘dreaded Dawood-bhai’ mafia-don character. Justifies Siddhanth, “To keep myself original to the ‘D-character’, I preferred to do a lot of research, workshops, and extensive reading both from the net, and from books by noted authors like S.Hussain Zaidi. No one has ever played Dawood-bhai, when he was 18 to 20 years old. So I had the creative liberty to show the world something they have not seen on-screen before. They started shooting with me from ‘a 45 year old to an 18 year old’, which was a huge challenge for me.”
“‘Don’t overact’,—was the precious advice which my dad Shakti Kapoor gave me”, signs off versatile Siddhanth, who also wishes to dabble in comedy and science-fiction genres.
