If legendary athlete Milkha Singh is an inspiration for Indian sportsmen, then Bollywood actor, model, brand ambassador and agile long-distance lead runner Milind Soman is an iconic inspiration for local females to participate in the ‘Colors’ Mumbai Women’s Pinkathon on Sunday December 18.
“This time for the fifth edition we are expecting over 10,000 lady participants,” enthused macho Milind who has vivacious VJ and reality show judge Anusha Dandekar and local RJ Mallishka and a host of corporate houses actively backing him. The sinewy Soman scotches rumors that he has taken a ‘sabbatical from acting’ in Bollywood movies. “Hey, that’s not true, I am still in the running and reckoning, but only if the role excites me. Recently I was seen in a striking brief role in SLB’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and in an award-winning Marathi movie ‘Astu’. In fact, I have just finished shooting for an interesting cameo role of a ‘philanthropist’ in a Hindi movie titled ‘Chef’ with Saif Ali Khan. It’s an Indianised remake of the ‘Hollywood flick ‘Chef’ and I play the character essayed by Robert Downey Jr,” reveals ‘lady-killer’ Soman who has an enviable massive female fan-following.
