Although he has limited 'paternity leave' this time, versatile, spontaneous star-actor Shahid Kapoor, who turned 'papa' for the second time when his winsome wife Mira delivered a 'cho-chweet' baby boy on Wednesday, seemed euphoric.
“Our second bundle of joy will be the latest shagun for both of us and for my acting career,” Shahid had said in advance while chatting about his upcoming maverick comedy movie 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu', directed by Shree Narayan Singh (of 'Toilet-Ek Prem Katha' fame).
“Mine is poised to be an electrifying performance as this unusual street-smart, yet kameena, crude, Garhwali-speaking lawyer in 'Batti Gul...'. Our realistic yet entertaining movie 'BGMC' deals with frequent power-cuts in small towns and rural sectors and even 'shockingly' inflated electricity bills.
Since the relatable non-preachy subject is serious, the treatment is highly hilarious. Luckily, I have some of the witty (double-meaning) naughty punch-lines which will have audiences laughing out, even during the court-room scenes with vivacious co-star Yami Gautam as the opposing lawyer. In the chartbusting trending song 'Hard Hard' from 'BGMC' which is already out on YouTube, I have gyrated to an amusing shock-waves-dance – a quirky take-off on break-dance – with my agile heroine Shraddha Kapoor,” enthuses the 'Padmaavat' hero.
Off-screen, Shahid considers himself as, “More passionate as a best dad, than as an actor. Acting is a selfish joy but parenting is selfless task to do and I love babysitting with my laadli little beti Misha, whenever I get the chance.”
