Amidst hysterical shrieks and mobbing, the high-energy- personified style-icon Bollywood heart-throb Ranveer Singh who had kept his huge swarm of frenzied female fans patiently waiting for nearly three hours, marched onto the stage, even as burly ‘bouncers’ tried hard to cordon him off. Riding on the crest of his success-wave, post his ‘Padmaavat’ -‘Khilji’- role popularity, the flamboyant Ranveer sporting Carrera sunglasses was exuding his charisma at the ‘spectacular’ launch of the Carrera eye-wear of which he is the brand ambassador. It was as if, he was ‘shading’ his eyes from the dazzling glare of mega-stardom.
Already an exuberant ambassador of ‘Swiss Tourism’, the ‘live-wire’ super actor Singh was on an emotional high, reacting to the wild cheering screams of his fans. “Wish I could come and give everyone a ‘hug’—there’s so much love in this room (banquet hall)”, he enthused as he later urged all his fans to check out his 20 minutes short film #driveyourstory. “It candidly encapsulates my flash-back journey, in pursuit of my passion and my life experiences, the reality battles of my life. One of the best films I have featured in. Whilst I was recalling straight from my heart, I became quite emotional and tears welled in my eyes. Honestly, I hate crying in front of the camera. Since I am a traditionally macho desi guy, I dislike showing my off-screen rona-dhona emotions in public” The fans-friendly Ranveer’s motivational mantra is ‘pursue your passion fearlessly—don’t fear failure—carve your own luck—like the way I did it’ . On the acting front, having wrapped up the shoot of Zoya Akhtar’s Mumbai-centric musical movie ‘Gully Boy’, Singh is gearing up to shoot for Rohit Shetty’s ‘Simmba’ for which he needs to look ‘rugged, brawny and puffed-up’
