Vivacious Southside regional prolific actress-danseuse Shanthipriya who was also the heroine opposite Akshay Kumar in his debut movie ‘Saugandh’ (1991) and also in ‘Ikke Pe Ikka’ (1994) is all set to stage a comeback in showbiz in the near future. “Being an experienced actress and a trained classical dancer I felt I should re-enter movies and web-series in both positive or negative roles that excite me. There are offers from top banners , but I need to figure out what suits me best,” smiles Shanthi who still retains her shapely figure and winsome looks. Was she still in touch with her pehla Bollywood hero Akshay? “Of course. We met some time ago at Mehboob Studios and we had lunch together along with Sonakshi Sinha. Besides his discreet pranks, ‘workaholic’ Akshay is a fabulous, caring co-star and I recall he had then saved me from a nasty fall injury during a high-rise stunt in a song picturisation. Let’s hope I get to work in one of the upcoming Akshay-starrers,” shares Shanthi, who incidentally was married to legendary film-maker V.Shantaram’s (late) actor-grandson Siddharth (Sushant) Ray, known for his role as the macho investigating cop in the mega-hit SRK-Kajol starrer ‘Baazigar’.
