The versatile ‘prima donna’ of Indie-pop film vocal music Asha Bhosle, who invariably prefers to celebrate her janamdin (Sept 8) privately, with only her own family and close friends, will make a major exception this time. According to co-impresario and noted film-maker Mahesh Tilekar, “It is our honour and privilege that surprisingly Asha-tai has agreed to attend this grand unique live music ‘n’ dance concert ‘Timeless Asha’ co-hosted by the Zee Classic channel, on her 83rd birthday, at a city auditorium.
There will be music and dance highlights, among which includes a special dazzling ‘laavni’ medley performance. We are expecting a galaxy of senior evergreen heroines including Asha Parekh, Zeenat Aman, Sharmila Tagore, Bindu and of course Helen-tai to grace the occasion.” According to information available, a string of surprise ‘live’ performers including Urmila Matondkar, Monali Thakur, Radhika Apte, Bhumi Pednekar, Antara Mitra, Mahie Gill, Bhargavi Chirmule, Terence Lewis, Lauren etc., are being lined up for the classy event, to be ‘anchored’ by the exuberant actor-singer Ayushmann Khurrana.
