The hot, sultry Sunny Leone, who is the new pin-up poster girl in tinsel town and is riding high with the success of 'Ragini MMS2', is now all set to wow the audiences in her forthcoming film ‘Ek Paheli Leela’. The glamour girl had a candid chat with Sandeep Hattangadi. Some excerpts.
Was the film ‘Ek Paheli Leela’ a challenge for you?
Yes. Certainly. I am playing a triple role in a film for the first time All the three roles are challenging, especially playing a Rajasthani girl and I had to speak in a Rajasthani dialect which was difficult for me to pick up. As I am speaking Hindi fluently for the first time it was challenging for me. I play a mysterious princess who falls in love with a commoner played by Rajneish Duggal and I had to sport a tanned dark look for the film. The film is a musical thriller shot in Jodhpur and other Rajasthani locations.
Tell us something about the cast of the film.
The tall, handsome Mohit Ahlawat plays a dashing prince in the film, the talented, hunky Rajneish Duggal plays the Rajasthani lover boy and the comeback star Jas Arora plays the villain of the piece. Also Jay Bhanushali has a major role. Rahul Dev and Shivani Tanksale play other important roles.
Was the director Bobby Khan any help to you?
Bobby is the brother of noted choreographer director Ahmed Khan and has directed over 100 music videos and has even choreographed them. He really helped me with the intricate and elaborate dance sequences in the film.
There are more than nine song sequences in the film which Bobby really helped me to dance He also worked on my Hindi dialogue delivery. Abhi main Hindi fluently bol sakti hoon.
Reportedly you have a dance sequence based on the hit song ‘Dholi Taro Dhol Baje’ from the film ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’?
Yes. I am dancing to the hit song and it was a great challenge for me as I am a huge Aishwarya Rai Bachchan fan. I took great pains to shoot this song and it has turned out really well. The song is the highlight of the film. The other songs composed by Amaal Malik are also popular.
How did you feel while working with three handsome leading men?
It was really chaotic with three handsome men after you (laughs). But yes Mohit, Jas and Rajneish are all great guys, all fun on the sets. On the tough, heated locations of Rajasthan we needed such men to keep our sanity right and do strenuous work. Mohit is the quieter one but Rajneish and Jas were real great fun on the sets.
Reportedly there is a lot of ‘dare-bare’ skin show in the film?
Yes, to a certain extent. But it is the requirement of the script. It has been shot aesthetically. Especially in one bold sequence I was drenched in milk and I had a difficult time shooting it.
What are your forthcoming projects like?
I have completed filming for the action thriller 'Tina and Lolo' which is slightly based on 'Charlies Angels' and 'Lara Croft' and have also wrapped up Milap Zaveri's sex comedy 'Mastizaade' alongside Tushar Kapoor and Vir Das, which will be releasing on May 1, 2015. I am currently filming for two projects, the "dramedy" 'Kuch Kuch Locha Hai' earlier titled as 'Patel Rap' co-starring Ram Kapoor and Evelyn Sharma and Jasmine D'Souza's 'One Night Stand' opposite Tanuj Virwani. This month I will kickstart filming for my next entitled 'Tera Beimaan Love' alongside Rajneish Duggal which will be helmed by Rajeev Chaudhry.
Sunny days seem to be here for Sunny Leone!
