After Nana Patekar and Aamir Khan, actor Akshay Kumar has come forward to do his bit for the drought affected areas of Maharashtra, which is reeling under one of the worst droughts in recent years. The Khiladi donated Rs. 50 lakhs towards the state-led initiative, Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyaan, that aims at making villages drought-proof by developing water harvesting techniques including construction of ponds.

Aamir is known to come out and support social causes. In 2001, he had adopted a village in Bhuj, Gujarat, which was devastated by earthquakes
