The country’s economic capital on Thursday faced its highest tide in the last 100 years. The tides measured upto 5.05 metres along Mumbai’s waterfront along Marine Drive, Mahim Beach and Worli Seaface at noon. The BMC had even placed a comprehensive disaster management plan to meet a possible flood situation. During the rains, people talk about high tide and low tide as if they are discussing the weather – and they are. They also compute the possibility of floods with a mathematicians obsession with laws of probability.
